Quantum Optics Laboratory main goal is the production, characterization and use of quantum states of light to which it has experimental infrastructure and offers opportunities for both basic and applied research.
The group is forming and has a strong potential for growth which seeks to incorporate three research scientists to work on experimental or / and theoretical projects. It is expected that researchers interested in being part of the group are concerned with quality and productivity leadership, hardworking and enthusiastic. The group will seek to privilege working with optical fibers and the frequencies associated with telecommunications.
Most experience has in producing photon pairs, both through parametric down conversion and through four-wave mixing in micro-structured fibers. Two projects currently under development are:
- All fiber system for the production of entangled photon pairs and.
- The implementation of a system for quantum key distribution.
